Commerce

Congratulations and best wishes to the Commerce graduating class from the staff of School of Commerce. In our four years with us we have tried to introduce you to some new ideas. We hope that we have occasionally managed to divert your thoughts from blondes to business and from baseball scores to measures of central tendency. We haven鈥檛 always succeeded and for this and other reasons we hope that you leave 平特五不中 with the understanding that your education has been just nicely started. Perhaps the most valuable thing you can take from 平特五不中 is a large collection of unanswered question and the drive and determination to search for answers.

My wish for you for the future is that you never run out of unanswered questions.

D. E. Armstrong
Director, School of Commerce

The C.U.S. began the year by retaining 鈥淏loody Mary鈥 for the third consecutive year as Commerce-men led all faculties (on a percentage basis) during the annual Red Cross Blood Drive. Gen-Nite featured four prominent Canadian businessmen who spoke to over 100 students about the features of their respective professions of industries.

The faculty newspaper, the 鈥淏alance Sheet,鈥 was published eight times during the year, and three tours were held, as Commercemen toured different industrial firms in Montreal. The student-faculty evening helped mould relations at the two academic levels, as the affair featured a four-way debate and an informal gathering of Commerce students and their professors. Participation in intra-mural athletics was excellent, as Commerce had representatives in the playoffs in every sport and were in the running for three intra-mural titles as Old 平特五不中 went to press.
