2024 Evaluation Capacity Case Challenge

The inaugural edition of the Evaluation Capacity Case Challenge (EC3)took place at the Max Bell School of Public Policy on May听24th and 25th, 2024 (in-person and online). The Case Site selected for 2024 was the Fraser Health Authority's (FHA) Virtual Health Department. They tasked the four teams with the following challenge question,

"How do we lay the foundation for embedding sustainable evaluation practice and the ongoing use of evaluation findings within VHD?"

  • Janelle Gowgiel, public health analyst in PCI government and works as a听federal contractor with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Division of Injury Prevention's Evaluation Team.听
  • Francois-Daniel Portelance,听Ph.D student enrolled at the Faculty of Education, Queen鈥檚 University, as he focuses on听Evaluation, Community Engagement, and Knowledge Mobilization.
  • Emilia Gonzalez,听researcher and facilitator, Emilia has been building bridges between research and the social sector for over ten years. Now a听PhD student in Social Policy at Toronto Metropolitan University.听

  • Gurneet Bhela,听an Evaluation Specialist at Greo Evidence Insights, actively engaged in creating evaluation products and supporting knowledge mobilization within the public health sector.

  • Mostafa Hanafy,听a third year PhD researcher at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

  • Bethina Loiseau,听a Senior Research and Evaluation officer at Prosper Canada.
  • Elaine Les is a PhD student at Montclair State University in the Department of Family Science and Human Development.
  • Natalie Pilla,听a mixed methods researcher, facilitator, and project manager.
  • Erika Sturgis,听a project manager for EvaluATE at The Evaluation Center-Western Michigan University.
  • Ihsan Thaheem,听a doctoral candidate and a teaching associate at Ohio University in the Educational Leadership and Public Policy Affairs Interdisciplinary PhD Program.

  • Heather Gillich,听a PhD student in Evaluation Studies at the University of Minnesota.听
