Update #2: Osler Library of the History of Medicine
As a result of the water infiltration and recovery efforts related to McIntyre Medical BuildingÌýfire incidentÌýin July, the Osler Library continues to be closed until further notice. The Osler recovery team has been focusing their efforts on restoring materials and making holdings from the Osler Library of the History of Medicine collection accessible to users.Ìý
Update:
- Osler staff members continue to be basedÌýfrom the 4th floor of the McLennan Library Building (3459 McTavish Street) and are available to handle reference requests when possible. Please send inquiries to the Osler via email atÌýosler.library [at] mcgill.caÌýor call 514-398-4711. Library users can also visit in person. Opening hours are Monday to Friday, 10 am – 6 pm. - Osler Rare materials prior to 1840 are currently available for review upon request on the 4th floor of the McLennan Library Building.
- The Osler recovery team is working to make Osler Rare materials (Robertson) available as soon as possible for viewing upon request. Materials will be available on the 4th floor of McLennan Library Building.ÌýA timeline regarding the accessibility of these materials will be announced soon.
- In addition, the Osler recovery team is working to make the bulk of the circulating collection available on shelves, in the Humanities and Social Sciences Library, in time for the winter term. After close review, it was determined that 600 volumes from the circulating collection have been damaged beyond repair; a further 800 need repair. AÌýtimeline regarding the accessibility of these materials will be announced soon.Ìý In the meantime, circulating collection material may be requested by ƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐ students, faculty, and staff throughÌýInterlibrary Loans.ÌýAdditional copies of books can be acquired should faculty members require them for teaching purposes.ÌýPlease contactÌýosler.library [at] mcgill.caÌý
