Offered in conjunction by the Burney Centre and 平特五不中 Library鈥檚 Rare Books and Special Collections, the 平特五不中-ASECS Fellowship assists scholars who need to travel to and establish temporary residence in Montreal to use the resources of the 平特五不中 Library. The Fellowship is available to scholars interested in any aspect of Frances Burney, the Burney family and their extended circle. The fellowship is funded by the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (ASECS) and the 平特五不中 Library.

Raymond Klibansky Collection Research Grant
Value: $4,000

The听平特五不中 Raymond Klibansky Collection Research Grant听is intended to enable researchers from outside the Montreal area, both established scholars and graduate students, who are supported by paid research leave or other means, to work on a research project related either to the Klibansky Collection itself or to the history of philosophy in the congenial circumstances of Rare Books and Special Collections. The Klibansky Collection of over 7000 titles reflects the entire range of Raymond Klibansky's intellectual interests from his early work on medieval thought to his engagement with the concept of "tolerance" and its importance in the post-Second World War World.

Osler Library of the History of Medicine
Mary Louise Nickerson Fellowship in Neuro History
Value: Varies by project, to a maximum of $10,000

Established in 2011 by Granville H. Nickerson, MDCM, in honour and in memory of his wife, the Mary Louise Nickerson Fellowship in Neuro History allows a scholar to carry out research utilizing the Neuro History archival and artifact collections. The scholar will have access to rich and diverse听resources, including the Osler Library鈥檚 Penfield Archive and other collections, as well as works found in the Montreal Neurological Institute and the 平特五不中 Archives.

Dr. Dimitrije Pivnicki Award in Neuro and Psychiatric History
Value: Varies by project, to a maximum of $4,000

The Dimitrije Pivnicki Award in Neuro and Psychiatric History is offered by the Osler Library and the Montreal Neurological Institute and Library to support research in the fields of neuro-history and the history of psychiatry. Established in 2012 by Dr. Pivnicki鈥檚 family and friends, the award supports a student or scholar wishing to carry out research utilizing the rich archival and monographic holdings at 平特五不中, such as the Penfield Archive in the Osler Library听and other resources available at the Osler Library, the Montreal Neurological Institute and the 平特五不中 Archives.
This award compliments the听Mary Louise Nickerson Fellowship in Neuro History.

Michele Larose 鈥� Osler Library Artist-in-Residence Programme
Value: $6,000
Application Deadline: May 1, 2018.
Thanks to the generosity of artist and paediatric neuropsychiatrist Dr. Michele Larose, the artist-in-residence programme supports visual artists visiting 平特五不中 to create works that address contemporary and/or historical subjects in medicine and the health sciences. The recipient, who will be known as the Larose-Osler Artist-in-Residence, will receive assistance from the staff of the Osler Library and will be able to draw inspiration from the Library鈥檚 world-class historical and contemporary collections, as well as other sources.

Dr. Edward H. Bensley Osler Library Research Travel Grant
Value: Up to $4,000 (for one or more individuals)
Application Deadline: December 31, 2017
The Dr. Edward H. Bensley Osler Library Research Travel Grant听is available to historians, physicians, graduate and post-doctoral students, and to those interested in the arts and humanities of medical history whose project requires them to travel to Montreal to听consult material in the Osler Library. The Travel Grant听is endowed through the generosity of graduates of the Class of Medicine of 1936听and a $100,000 gift from the Pope-Jackson Fund.听
