Department of Art History and Communication Studies Media Resource Collection

Heritage

The Visual Resource Collection serves to acquire and provide resources for professors and students in the Department of Art History and Communication Studies in preparing slides for teaching, research and study. The collection has over 180,000 slides, 10,000 digital images and 40,000 dry-mounts of works of art and 5,000 postcards, as well as videos and DVDs available for classroom use. Progress is being made to provide online access to digital images, despite problems of copyright restrictions. Although the slides are heavily used, the photos are kept in storage.
