Art History & Communication Studies

Undergraduate Programs

The Department offers Minor, Major, Honours, and Joint Honours programs in Art History. Our undergraduate programs examine the history of art, architecture and visual culture from antiquity to the contemporary moment.

Communication Studies offers a flexible undergraduate minor program enabling students to mix-and-match courses in critical media and technology studies, sound studies, feminist media studies, media history, critical theory, anti-racist and postcolonial studies of media systems and cultures, and queer cultural studies, among other topics.

Graduate Programs

AHCS offers PhD and MA programs in Art History and in Communication Studies, as well as options for joint PhD and MA programs in Gender and Women鈥檚 Studies through the Institute for Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies.
