Working Nation, a US-based organization working to highlight career/technical education and vocational training across the country asked Dr. Michael Lipset (DISE) to appear on their video-based YouTube series highlighting workforce efforts in education.

Filmed at SXSW EDU 2024, the video was one of a series of guest spots they filmed throughout the week and covers 4 Learning鈥檚 approach to school change, which includes vocational training in the recording arts, business of music and media, and other creative endeavors.

Her troupe of trained therapeutic clowns bring comfort, compassion, and plenty of laughs to hospitalized children and seniors in care facilities.

Dr.听Victoria Talwar, Canada Research Chair in ECP and the Faculty of Education's Interim Dean, was interviewed on CTV News on the screen times of both adults and children, and the effects it can have on kids.

The research on children's screen time has shown that less is more, however when it comes to a child鈥檚 development, parents should spend less time worrying about their kids鈥 screen time and focus more on reducing their own.

Dr. Khoury is an Associate Professor in ECP and he heads the , where he and his team conduct research on advancing the theory, research, and applications of mindfulness and compassion.

Dr. Kristy A. Robinson, Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, has received the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) President鈥檚 New Researcher Award.

She will accept the award at this year's CPA convention in Ottawa (June 21-23), where she will also deliver an invited talk on her work.

This award recognizes the exceptional quality of her contributions to psychological knowledge in Canada as an early career researcher.

Two members of the Fall 2024 cohort of will begin their funded Master鈥檚 studies at 平特五不中鈥檚 Faculty of Education. Designed to encourage purposeful leadership, the scholarships enable students to pursue a funded degree while participating in mentorship, coaching, and a leadership development program.

Recipients were chosen based on exceptional character, community engagement, leadership potential, entrepreneurial spirit, academic strength, and intellectual curiosity.

Dr. Tina Montreuil, ECP, has been recognized by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health as one of Canada鈥檚听.

This honour led to Dr. Montreuil鈥檚 selection as an expert witness, invited to present before Canada鈥檚 parliament on April 8, 2024.

Dr. Muis discusses the use of these deepfakes, highlighting an initial increase in motivation and attention can be beneficial but is not enough. The spread of misconceptions and the quality of the information presented is a concern.

Kristy A. Robinson, Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, received two awards at this year's meeting of the American Educational Research Association (AERA).

From the AERA Motivation in Education Special Interest Group, she received the Wilbert C. McKeachie Early Career Award for Motivation in Education Research, and from AERA Division C (Learning and Instruction), she received the Outstanding Early Career Scholar Award.
