Dr. Shane Sweet, Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education was just renewed as a听Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Participation, Well-Being, and Physical Disability. Shane's research听involves studying well-being and participation in daily and social activities among people living with physical disabilities. This kind of practical application research will impact society in terms of optimizing interventions and programs aimed at enhancing the lives of people living with physical disabilities.

On May 30th, 34 students from across Eeyou Istchee graduated from 平特五不中, in the first program that allows northern Quebec Cree to learn from home to become teachers in their own community.

Two students from the Faculty of Education have earned a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship and Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship.
Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship:
Rasel Babu, in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, received a 平特五不中 Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship for their research topic: "Pedagogues' Readiness to Integrate Educational Technology for Teaching Language and Mathematics in Bangladeshi Secondary Classrooms."

Dr. Hadas Dahary earned her Ph.D. in School/Applied Child Psychology at 平特五不中 under the supervision of Dr. Eve-Marie Quintin. Her doctoral research was supported by the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Doctoral Scholarship and competitive national autism research training initiatives, including the Quebec Autism Research Training (ART) Program, offered by the Azrieli Centre for Autism Research (ACAR) and the Transforming Autism Care Consortium (TACC) in Montreal.
