About the units in the portfolio:

The Office of the Vice-Principal, Research and Innovation (R+I)provides central services to the entire R+I team and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of R+I. These services include Finance, HR, and administrative support for the VP, AVPs, and Directors. In addition, the Unit oversees internal and external communications on behalf of the office as well as in related portfolios.

The Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) is the central office that provides strategic advice and assistance to the 平特五不中 academic community in听securing and managing听research funding from granting agencies, foundations, governments, and other not-for-profit sponsors.听OSR also supports researchers in the negotiation and acceptance of the terms and conditions of their research awards.

The Office is composed of the following groups:

Grants and Agreements听provide comprehensive services, support, and strategic advice to 平特五不中 faculty applying for research funding from granting agencies, private foundations, government departments, and not-for-profit sponsors. OSR Officers can help you identify appropriate funding sources; provide substantial review and feedback on your proposals; draft, negotiate and review research agreements; and support related interviews and site visits associated with your submissions.听

Awards Management听provides a wide range of services related to award (grants, agreements, and prizes) activation, and works closely with Research Financial Management Services (RFMS) to ensure prompt fund opening and assist with any necessary post-award adjustments and follow-up.

Data Management听provides general administrative and IT support to the Office of the Vice-Principal (Research and Innovation), maintains information systems, generates research-related records and reports, and ensures the integrity of university research data.

The Office of Innovation + Partnershipsassists 平特五不中's research community in securing funded research contracts and industrial partnership opportunities governed by agreements with both private and public sponsors. Unit personnel facilitate and manage the transfer of knowledge stemming from research endeavours undertaken by 平特五不中's faculty members.

I+P includes the Industry Partnerships team, directly supporting听researchers seeking collaborations with industry, and act as a gateway to industry-related agreements for research, services, collaboration, consortia, confidentiality, material transfers, and clinical trials

The Office of Research Ethics and Compliance serves researchers working with human participants or animals. 平特五不中 follows strict research integrity standards. 平特五不中 also cultivates and reinforces a culture that enables its members to identify and resolve conflicts of interest with the support and guidance of the administration and their units.

The Animal Compliance Officeprovides advice on compliance in research and teaching projects that involve animal subjects. The unit supports the Animal Care Program for 平特五不中 and its affiliated hospitals and research institutes.听For more information about research involving animals please visit the section of the website.

The Research Involving Humans Unit conducted at, or under the auspices of 平特五不中 requires prior ethics review and approval by a 平特五不中-sanctioned Research Ethics Board (REB). There are 5 campus REBs as well as the REBs of affiliated institutions. This office provides guidance on policies and procedures and manages the ethics review process for the following REBs: REB-I, II, III, and the FAES REB.
