Aisha Barise
Aisha Barise was born in Qu茅bec, Canada, to a Somali family, and lived in Dubai and Japan. Throughout her life, she acquired Somali, French, Arabic, English, and Japanese. Upon completing a BA (Honours) in Linguistics from Concordia University and studying Japanese at 平特五不中, she moved to Japan to teach English as a Foreign聽Language. She then pursued a Master's of Science in Linguistics at the University of Alberta, specializing in syntax and morpho-syntax. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Educational studies with a concentration in Language Acquisition under the Department of Integrated Studies in Education at 平特五不中. Her general PhD research interest consists of formal linguistic (syntactic and morphosyntactic development) and sociocultural (plurilingualism, translanguaging, anti-racism) approaches to language acquisition and education.聽
