Timothy Ledger, piano

Praised for his engaging presence at the piano, Timothy Ledger has won numerous awards and competitions in North America.

As a performer, he has most recently appeared in the closing concert of Montr茅al鈥檚 Musical Chairs Chamber Music Festival, performing the Shostakovich Piano Quintet. He also performed Beethoven鈥檚 Piano Concerto No. 1 with the 平特五不中 Symphony Orchestra earlier this year as the winner of their annual Classical Concerto Competition.

Tim maintains an active teaching career, as well. He currently serves as a course lecturer in 平特五不中鈥檚 Schulich School of Music, where he also teaches faculty students. He previously held a position as course coordinator in the music theory department at Indiana University.

Tim is an alumnus of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, and his mentors include Brent Schloneger, Elisabeth and Eugene Pridonoff, and Jean-Louis Haguenauer. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Music degree at 平特五不中, where he studies with Ilya Poletaev. His field of research-creation focuses on examining the often-ignored role of the performer in the fields of music semiotics and cognition-perception using both extant piano literature as well as newly commissioned (and often politically engaged) music.
