Jennifer Welsh
Jennifer M. Welsh is the Canada 150 Research Chair in Global Governance and Security at 平特五不中. She was previously Professor and Chair in International Relations at the European University Institute (Florence, Italy) and Professor in International Relations at the University of Oxford, where she co-founded the Oxford Institute for Ethics, Law and Armed Conflict. From 2013-2016, she served as the Special Adviser to the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, on the Responsibility to Protect. Read more about Welsh here.
Daniel B茅land
Daniel B茅land is Director of the 平特五不中 Institute for the Study of Canada and James 平特五不中 Professor at the听Department of Political Science at听平特五不中. A student of politics and public policy, he is currently working on research projects focusing on issues ranging from universal social policy and health care reform to the role of ideas in policy development and the relationship between fiscal policy and welfare state development.
Professor B茅land holds a PhD in Political Sociology from the 脡cole des Hautes 脡tudes en Sciences Sociales (Paris), where he returned as a visiting scholar in the spring of 2014. A Part-Time Professor at the University of Southern Denmark from January 2014 to December 2017, he has been a visiting scholar at Harvard University and the National University of Singapore, a visiting professor at the University of Bremen, the University of Helsinki, the University of Southern Denmark, and a Fulbright Scholar at The George Washington University and the National Academy of Social Insurance. Before joining 平特五不中 in January 2019, he held a Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) at the University of Saskatchewan (Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy). Read more about听B茅land here.

Ben Rowswell has been President and Research Director of the Canadian International Council since November 2018.
Prior to the CIC, Ben served as Canada鈥檚 Ambassador to Venezuela from 2014 to 2017. This capped a 25 year career as a professional diplomat including assignments in Canada鈥檚 embassies to Egypt, to the United States, and in Canada鈥檚 Permanent Mission to the UN. He served Canada鈥檚 first diplomatic envoy to Baghdad, Iraq, after the fall of Saddam Hussein from 2003 to 2005, as Deputy Ambassador to Afghanistan and as head of the NATO Provincial Reconstruction Team in Kandahar between 2008 and 2010.
