PEDTalk: Why Teaching Inspires Others

Discussing听the impact you can make as an educator, Melinda Cochrane will share with you why being a teacher is not only a valued profession but also one that will give more than you can imagine intrinsically and spiritually. Teaching is a profession that changes lives. Melinda likes to incorporate her passions into her classroom and would like to inspire future teachers to do so. As a published author and editor, the English teacher designed听the course The Writer鈥檚 Room which led to nine students publishing their own book. Don't miss this inspirational PEDTalk!听

Bio听

Melinda Cochrane is a poet, fiction writer, speaker and educator. She is currently teaching English at Beaconsfield High School. She received the Mary Belle Campbell Scholarship for poetry and teaching from the North Carolina Writers Network. Her first YA novel, Desperate Freedom was nominated for best book of the year in 2013 from the Quebec Writer's Federation. Melinda also runs a publishing service based out Montreal. She hasbeen published in online magazines and blogs such as, (regular writer for) and Erica Diamond. She can also be read at Her poetry books included The Man who Stole Father鈥檚 Boat, She鈥檚 an Island Poet and a long poem called My Lips hold the Pink and Red. She is awinner of the summer.
