As part of the 6th annual by the聽Orchestre symphonique de Montr茅al (OSM) on August 12, 2017,聽Schulich School of Music bassoon faculty members St茅phane聽L茅vesque and Martin Mangrum took part in the world premiere of Simon Leclerc's聽'Concerto Grosso for Five Bassoons, Contrabassoon, Strings聽and Timpani', along with OSM bassoon colleagues聽and guest bassoonist聽Carlo Colombo of the Lyon Opera Orchestra.
The Schulich School of Music is delighted to announce that聽violinist聽Violaine Melan莽on聽will be joining the string faculty as Associate Professor,聽beginning August 1st, 2018.
Currently, Dr. Lisa Lorenzino, Professor of Music Education, is聽in southern Chile with seven current and former Schulich School聽of Music Students as part of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas聽Global Leaders Program.聽After three days of seminars and聽meetings, the students have moved to a variety of locations聽throughout southern Chile to keep students active in free聽after-school music programs designed to empower youth. They will also be active as performers in the various communities.

After a very exciting final round held on Saturday, December 2nd in Pollack Hall, we are excited to announce that soprano Anna-Sophie Neher is this year鈥檚 winner of the Wirth Vocal Prize. Alongside collaborative pianist Esther Gonthier, Anna-Sophie performed works by Mozart, Morlock, Poulenc, Wolf and Rossini to secure the title.
