McIntyre post-fire update - July 30

To all members of the Faculty of Medicine,

As previously communicated, as of last Friday McIntyre Floors 7 and higher were reopened for all faculty and staff members and students, accessible via the 6th听floor Pine entrance. With three of the four ventilation systems servicing this area of the building returning to operation, temperatures on these floors continued to drop over the weekend and are now within their normal range, with the exception of small pockets of warmer areas that are serviced by the one HVAC system that remains to be cleaned.

AACR Announces New Editors-in-Chief of Cancer Prevention Research

PHILADELPHIA 鈥� The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) is pleased to announce the appointments of Raymond N. DuBois, MD, PhD, and Michael N. Pollak, MD, as editors-in-chief of听Cancer Prevention Research, one of eight highly esteemed journals published by the AACR. DuBois and Pollak began their tenures as editors-in-chief July 1, 2018.

Work continues on plan, based on today鈥檚 update by 平特五不中鈥檚 Emergency Operations听Centre (EOC).听Soot on Floors 7 to 13 has been cleaned from the majority of rooms and HVAC systems, and we have received the results of final air quality assessments to support the reopening on听Friday, July 27,听of Floors 7 to 13, provided the key steps outlined below are successfully completed.

McIntyre Post-fire Update - JULY 20

To all members of the Faculty of Medicine,

Yesterday, a special information session was held to give the Faculty community a detailed account of the progress made since the McIntyre Building fire last Friday, July 13. At the meeting, 平特五不中鈥檚 VP听(Administration and Finance)听Yves Beauchamp confirmed that the McIntyre will remain closed听until at least听Wednesday a.m., July 25. The goal, however,听is to听reopen portions of the building starting as early as Wednesday. In the meantime, please note that current protocols remain in place.

平特五不中鈥檚 Ludmer Centre for Neuroinformatics & Mental Health has formed a collaboration with GPU.one, a Montreal-based private data colocation centre that will provide the Ludmer Centre鈥檚 neuroinformatics team at the 平特五不中 Centre for Integrative Neuroscience (MCIN), with access to graphics-processing-unit (GPU) computational capacity, the equivalent of $250,000 over听5 years.

平特五不中 medical students to host YogAuction event to benefit Childhood Cancer Canada Foundation

On June 23 a group of 平特五不中 Medical students will host YogAuction, an outdoor yoga event and silent auction taking place at 平特五不中鈥檚 Percival Molson Stadium between 9:30 a.m. and noon. Funds raised from the event will go directly towards (CCC), whose mission is to create victories for Canadian children with cancer through investment in national and collaborative research, educational and community programs.
