On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, HBHL hosted a Mentorship Lunch that brought together experienced industry professionals and over 40 平特五不中 graduate students, postdocs and postgrads over coffee and lunch at the 平特五不中 Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship. Mentors shared about their experience navigating the workforce and engaged in lively roundtable discussions with the mentees. Topics ranged from academia-industry collaborations and social innovation to technology transfer, medical affairs, scientific entrepreneurship and operational management.

The Integrated Program in Neuroscience (IPN) invites Dr. Marina Picciotto is give the 2023 Bernice Grafstein Lecture in Neuroscience. is the Charles B. G. Murphy Professor of Psychiatry and Professor in the Child Study Center, of Neuroscience and of Pharmacology at Yale School of Medicine. Her talk is entitled 鈥淎 novel VTA GABA pathway that encodes unconditioned reward value鈥. Dr. Picciotto specializes in addiction, memory, and reward behaviours.

The Chemistry Outreach Group has taken home听the Principal鈥檚 Prize for Public Engagement听through Media, winning the inaugural 'Collaboration' category听for groups of undergraduate or graduate students that engage with the external community and/or the media.

The Prize recognizes the vital role outreach groups play in supporting the University鈥檚 commitment to being of service to society and engaging with the broader community.

On March 4th, 2018, over 200 undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and researchers flocked to the University of Western Ontario to attend the 2nd Biennial . The conference focused on inspiring and supporting young women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) by providing the opportunity to network with and learn from established women in STEM fields.

Earlier this week, the first听HBHL-SKILLSETS听workshop was held. The workshop, entitled听Increase Your Impact: Sharing neuroscience research with diverse audiences, was facilitated by Falisha Karpati (Program Officer, Healthy Brains for Healthy Lives) and John Van Heest (Communications Administrator, Teaching and Learning Services). Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows from all around 平特五不中 joined us to learn about research dissemination methods, and making neuroscience content accessible and engaging for different audiences.
