鈥淰ivre ensemble, c'est entrer dans un tissu de pratiques quotidiennes de cohabitation, souvent impr茅gn茅es de conflits, parfois appuy茅es sur des revendications.鈥
For Montr茅al鈥檚 375th anniversary, CIRM wanted to examine the mechanisms that have allowed, in the history of the city, to maintain a relative social peace. Twenty-four texts compose this book which reveals the many uses that Montrealers make of places sometimes known, sometimes less. Essays and case studies alternate with testimonies rooted in everyday experiences, exploring convivialities and tensions that reveal links between spaces and citizens. They discuss places of sociability鈥攈ow to belong to the city and how to live together.
