Alissa Moore earned a BSc. from the University of British Columbia in 2009 with a major in Microbiology and Immunology. In 2019, she graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a BN in Nursing. During her nursing studies, she had the opportunity to work as a research assistant on qualitative research with marginalized groups, including research on Canadian women firefighters鈥� health and cancer risk perceptions. This research experience inspired her to pursue an MSc. in epidemiology with the ultimate goal of conducting mixed methods research with a view to improving health equity. She is thrilled to begin graduate studies at 平特五不中 and to join the team at the Division of Cancer Epidemiology.

THESIS RESEARCH
Project Title: Human papillomavirus transmission dynamics and natural immunity in the Transmission Reduction and Prevention with HPV Vaccination (TRAP-HPV) study (supervisor: Dr. Eduardo Franco).
Brief Description: My thesis will assess the efficacy of vaccination (even post-infection) of one or both partners for preventing HPV autoinfection and transmission within heterosexual couples. It will also look at pre-vaccination anti-HPV serum antibody levels to see if natural immunity influences response to the vaccine.
