Davin Luce

Davin Luce is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Art History and Communication Studies at 平特五不中, working under the supervision of Dr. Jeehee Hong. He holds an BA in Art History from 平特五不中 and a MA in Art History from the University of British Columbia. His research focuses broadly on the visual culture of middle-period China (9-14th聽centuries), with a particular interest in visual materials related to Buddhist deities known as聽濒耻辞丑补苍蝉.听In his dissertation project, Davin examines the material and conceptual associations between聽濒耻辞丑补苍蝉听and other important Buddhist figures, such as the Ten Disciples of the Buddha, in pictorial and sculptural imagery. Davin鈥檚 doctoral studies and research has been supported by the Max Stern Museum Fellowship, the Graduate Excellence Award, and the Blakemore Kingfisher Fellowship.
