Sustainability in Engineering at 平特五不中 (SEAM)

SEAM, Sustainability in Engineering at 平特五不中, is a committee within the Engineering Undergraduate Society (EUS). They serve as a supporting platform, fostering and promoting a culture of sustainability within the Faculty of Engineering at 平特五不中.聽seam logo

They do this through four main efforts:

Events

Events such as their annual speed networking event help to show 平特五不中鈥檚 future engineers some of the many opportunities in sustainability, as well to introduce them to thinking and designing in a more sustainable way.

Consulting & Projects

In addition to their聽main events, SEAM undertakes independent or partnered projects which directly affect the engineering community. Their most obvious projects are the lovely green plants in the McConnell hallway and the reusable Blue鈥檚 Pub cups.聽SEAM has recently begun working with other organizations and teams to make their operations more sustainable. Last year when the EUS G-Store needed a new fridge, SEAM partnered up with them and found a green machine which saves 1000kWh and 4kg of CO2 annually.

Resources

SEAM聽provides a starting place for learning about sustainability, by actively gathering information, resources and opportunities and delivering them to the engineering student community via their聽website and聽other networks.

Curriculum Integration

SEAM works with the EUS and faculty to integrate sustainability into the Engineering curriculum courses.
