New Faculty

It takes a village!

The Department of Surgery is a welcoming environment the enables听new recruits to quickly overcome challenges of听familiarizing oneself with a new department. 听To this end we create听a听mentorship committee for every new recruit, composed of听at least 4 department members: the division director, at least one faculty member within the division, and at least one external member.

The onboarding committee meets with the new recruit at least twice a year, for听3-5 years. 听In addition to providing support and mentorship, the committee also helps the new recruit听establish relationship听within the听division, and throughout the department, faculty, and hospitals.
