The Science Office for Undergraduate Student Advising (SOUSA) and the Office of the Director of Advising Services of the Faculty of Science are located in Dawson Hall, room 405. SOUSA serves students in the B.Sc. and B.A. & Sc. degrees.

  • ƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐ’s second-largest faculty: Consisting of 15 schools and departments, including the Redpath Museum, Canada’s oldest museum of natural history focusing on teaching, research, and outreach; 20 research centres and institutes
  • Students: 4,419 undergraduate, 1,031 graduate, and 123 postdoctoral researchers, for a total of 5,573 students
  • 264 faculty members, including tenured and tenure-track professors
  • Has produced ten Nobel laureates: seven were Faculty of Science graduates, while two winners were Science faculty members.
  • Canadian leader in astrophysics and cosmology, climate change and extreme weather, green chemistry, life sciences (developmental biology), earth systems science, biodiversity and conservation, nanoscience, social neuroscience, sustainability science, and artificial intelligence
  • Offers students a variety of Field Study opportunities, which take students from the traditional classroom environment to a world of strong interdisciplinary, international and research-based education and to work with native populations, governmental agencies, and NGOs in places as far-ranging as East Africa, Barbados, Panama, and the Arctic
  • Offers the Reginald Fessenden Professorships and Prizes in Science Innovation, the first such endowed program in Canada, to encourage and support the commercialization of research in science conducted by world-class scholars
  • ƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐ’s most multidisciplinary faculty, which conducts teaching and research in collaboration with many of the University’s other faculties, including Medicine, Engineering, Music, Arts, Education, and Management
  • State-of-the-art facilities including the $120 million ƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐ Life Sciences Research Complex, consisting of the Francesco Bellini Building and Cancer Research Building, which are physically linked to the McIntyre Medical and the Stewart Biology Buildings
  • Established Canada’s first comprehensive Earth System Science Program, to study and research new forms of energy and gain a better understanding of climate change and natural hazards
  • The Tomlinson Project in University-Level Science Education conducts groundbreaking university-level science education research, and develops innovative and effective teaching methods for science instructors
  • The Office for Undergraduate Research and the Science Undergraduate Research Awards encourage top students to connect with professors during their degree program and pursue research projects in fields of interest
