Admission Requirements
Applications are assessed on demonstrated experience, professional background, scholarly potential, letters of reference and personal statement. The basic requirements are:
- a Master's degree
- ​an MSW degree ORÌýa BSW with a master's degree in a related subject or discipline from an accredited program.
- a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 4-point scale.
- a university-level statistics and research methodology courseÌýtaken within the last 5 years.
Courses at ƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐ are offered in English. A parallel stream is offered in French at Ìý²¹²Ô»åÌý²¹³Ù . Students have the option of applying to the Joint Ph.D. program through any of these universities.

Admission is only for theÌýFall Semester.
- We offer aÌýcompetitive funding package to incoming students. Currently, we offer $20,000 per year for the first three years, with the understanding that students are required to apply for external funding (which would replace our package if the student is successful). We also offer differential fee waivers so that international students pay equivalent to Canadian rates. We support students in acquiring external funding and also encourage access to research assistantships, teaching assistantships and sessional teaching contracts.
- WithÌýƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐ’s Aboriginal Admissions Protocol, Indigenous students can submit additional documentation that would be considered as part of their application to ƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐ.ÌýProspective First Nations, Inuit, or Métis students should identify themselves as such when filling out their application, which allows them to take advantage.ÌýFor more information, please visit theÌýFirst People’s House website.
