Overview

The Graduate Certificate is a 15-credit, graduate-level program designed to equip students and working professionals with specialized training to enrich their current portfolio or to prepare for work in public and private sectors in specific areas.聽All courses are offered on-site at 平特五不中. The program may be completed within two academic semesters (Fall/Winter), or to a maximum of three years. Both Fall and Winter entry is offered.

Admissions requirements

Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with academic standing of at least a B; English-language proficiency; competency in the use of computers.

Course & program requirements

All students take the two required courses (6 credits) for their area of specialization, and select three courses (9 credits) from the list of complementary courses for their area.

  • 1-2* complementary course(s).
  • 1 required course
  • 1-2* complementary course(s).

*Complete required courses plus 1 complementary course (3 credits) in one semester, 2 complementary courses (6 credits) in another. Total: 5 courses (15 credits).

Please note: Courses are generally offered in alternate semesters; check current availability of courses by semester by visiting the .

Other requirements

  • All 15 credits of coursework must be completed at the School of Information Studies; no transfer of credits from other units or institutions is available for this program.
  • Prior to program completion, students may be eligible, with successful program application and Director's approval, to transfer credits to another degree program at the School. However, on completion of the degree, credits may not, by University regulation, be transferred to another degree program.
  • Returning SIS students who have already completed a required course at the School are to contact the Graduate Program Director for more information. Please note that any special substitutions for returning SIS students are not guaranteed; permission for substitutions must be obtained from the Graduate Program Director at the time of admission.
