The purpose of the undergraduate curriculum in the Department of Psychology is to introduce students to psychological knowledge, theory, and methods. The study of psychology also has many interdisciplinary aspects, and draws on knowledge from disciplines such as biology, physiology, linguistics, sociology, philosophy, and mathematics.听
The B.A. and B.Sc. programs in Psychology are intended to give students a general academic background. Those who are interested in practicing psychology professionally must obtain a graduate degree, typically the Ph.D. (see Psychology as a discipline)
