Dr. C茅line Aguer combines her expertise in exercise physiology and biochemistry to understand how muscle metabolic defects contribute to the development of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. The overarching goal of her research program is to better understand how some environmental factors such as exercise and environmental pollutants may alter skeletal muscle energy metabolism. She is using an integrated approach in the study of muscle metabolism and exercise physiology ranging from metabolic pathways at the cellular level to exercise physiology at the whole-body level. She is particularly interested in the cross-talk between muscle and different tissues (e.g. adipose tissue, pancreatic islets) in the development of type 2 diabetes.

Her research lab is located at the Institut du Savoir Montfort in Ottawa, ON. At 平特五不中 she teaches physiology and she is the student academic advisor in the Med-P program, Outaouais campus.
