In response to the Calls to Action in the 2017 Final Report of the Provost’s Task Force on Indigenous Studies and Indigenous Education, ƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐ commits in its campus Master Plan to ensuring that Indigenous spaces are integrated into all aspects of University planning, including plans for the Royal Victoria Hospital site.

In January 2021, ƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐ launched a process to engage Indigenous communities in the design of the New Vic Project. ƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐ has engaged more than 50 internal and external Indigenous community members on the University’s plans for the New Vic portion of the site. Engagement has taken place through multiple formats, including an Elders Circle, an Elders Tour of the New Vic site, roundtables, and engagement and information sessions. These activities have been held in-person, in both urban spaces and within Indigenous communities, as well as sometimes online.
