The OECD has released a聽: 鈥淢ontreal has huge potential to become one of the most dynamic cities across OECD countries, thanks to its talented and creative population. Yet the city has not demonstrated outstanding results in terms of job creation and collective wealth generation in the past few鈥.

"The OECD report highlights Montr茅al's strengths, while pointing out weaknesses in the productivity of its economy and innovation system.聽The proposed plan of action, which seems to want to transform Montr茅al into Boston or San Francisco, does not seem to take into account the significant inequalities and land pressures that characterize these high-GDP cities.聽Also, it does not seem to take full account of certain institutional realities unique to Montreal and Quebec.聽The fact remains that a certain decompartmentalization of economic silos and a revitalization of its SMEs, without causing major transformations, would not hurt the Montr茅al economy."聽Richard Shearmur, Professor, School of Urban Planning, 平特五不中
