The Milton Quartet wins the Gold Medal & Grand Prize at the 2017 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.

The Milton String Quartet, composed of Schulich School of Music students Roman Fraser, Maith茅na Gireault, Evan Robinson and聽Joshua Morris,聽has won the Grand Prize and Senior String Division Gold Medal at the 44th Annual Fischoff Competition at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.聽

The Fischoff Competition is the largest chamber music competition of its kind in the world. Each year, an average of 125 ensembles,聽representing 22 nationalities, enter the competition.聽The Milton Quartet receives $10,000 for the Grand Prize win and a further $3,500 for winning the Senior String Division.

Following in the footsteps of the Lloyd Carr-Harris Quartet, winner in 2005, the Milton Quartet studies under the tutelage of Prof. Andr茅 J. Roy. Prof. Roy directs the 平特五不中 International String Quartet Academy (MISQA), created in 2010 to bring world-renowned professors to Montreal each summer to teach and share their experience with exceptional young string quartets from different countries.

The Montreal community will have an opportunity to hear the Milton Quartet in concert in August, at聽the 2017 edition of .
