Mission/Mandate:

Shifting to sustainability requires taking a multi-faceted systems-level approach to some of the world鈥檚 knottiest problems. The 平特五不中 Sustainability Systems Initiative (MSSI) was founded in 2016 to mobilize 平特五不中 researchers around these sustainability challenges and to equip the next generation in the skills necessary to address these issues. In its novel approach, it provides opportunities for researchers from very different disciplines to interact and co-design projects that address complex issues from a variety of perspectives. The outcome is a robust and vibrant community of committed sustainability researchers.

The MSSI鈥檚 mission is three-fold:

• To provide听support and funding for significant, impactful and socially-relevant research in sustainability
• To build 平特五不中鈥檚 sustainability research capacity by developing connections between researchers in natural sciences, engineering, social sciences and humanities
• To provide opportunities for researchers to develop skills required to work in multidisciplinary collaborations and to disseminate that knowledge to a wider audience
