平特五不中鈥檚 program in Mining Engineering is Canada鈥檚 oldest mining school, founded in 1871. In 2021, we celebrate our 150th anniversary! For a century and a half, our graduates have shaped the face of mining here in Canada and around the world. It鈥檚 time to recognize and celebrate what we鈥檝e achieved together.

En 2013, une version anglophone du programme Coop a 茅t茅 cr茅茅e pour les personnes hors de la province et du Canada.听Le programme de g茅nie des mines est connu pour son excellence en recherche, mais aussi pour la qualit茅 de ses dipl么m茅s, dont beaucoup occupent des postes cl茅s dans l'industrie mini猫re.听Un large 茅ventail d'activit茅s de recherche est en cours dans des domaines comme la m茅canique des roches, l鈥櫭ヽonomie mini猫re, la ventilation, l鈥櫭﹏ergie et la planification strat茅gique de la mine.

Undergraduate Program

The undergraduate degree in Mining Engineering provides students with the skills and experience necessary to work in mining, as well as in related fields such as energy, construction, manufacturing, and finance and mining investment. We offer a Bilingual Stream in collaboration with Ecole Polytechnique, as well as an English Stream for out-of-province and international students. The co-op program offers the opportunity to gain work experience while studying through three, paid work terms. Undergraduate students also have the option to complete the program without co-op work terms.

Graduate Program

The graduate program is known for its excellence in research and the quality of its students, many of whom have held key positions in the mining industry, and the strength of its ties with leading companies in the mining industry. Graduate studies in Mining Engineering are dynamic, allowing students to work with top researchers in a wide variety of areas such as mine planning and optimization, rock breaking, and mineral economics, to name just a few. Grad students come from all over the world to benefit from the program鈥檚 numerous funding opportunities and career resources, as well as from its tight-knit, community aspect.
