    Polymyalgia Temporal Arteritis

Dr. Michael SteinDr. Stein is originally from Toronto and obtained his medical training at 平特五不中 in 1992. He completed his Rheumatology fellowship at the University of Toronto. Dr. Stein is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the department of Rheumatology at 平特五不中. He is a consultant Rheumatologist at St. Marys Hospital and the MUHC. He is involved in many teaching activities at 平特五不中 for both medical students and residents/fellows and was awarded the Osler teaching award for 平特五不中 medical students in 2021. He is the past president of CRUS (the Canadian Rheumatology Ultrasound Society) and continues to instruct and lecture on synovial sonography to rheumatology trainees and fellow rheumatologists. Dr. Stein is the chair of Rheumatology fellowship exam committee for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Dr. Soham RejSoham Rej MD, MSc Geriatric Psychiatrist and Assistant Professor, Dept. of Psychiatry, 平特五不中 Associate Director, Psychosocial Research Axis, Jewish General Hospital/Lady Davis Institute Honorary Professor, School of Nursing and Midwifery, Queen's University Belfast. Dr. Soham Rej is currently a Geriatric Psychiatrist, Clinician-Scientist, and Assistant Professor at the Jewish General Hospital/Lady Davis Institute, 平特五不中, Montreal, Canada since 2017. Dr. Rej has more than 130 peer-reviewed publications, $2.0M in peer-reviewed research funding (CIHR, FRQS, etc.) and has mentored more than 80 graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, psychiatry residents, and other trainees. Dr. Rej's Geri-PARTy lab investigates clinical trials to improve mood, anxiety, and cognitive disorders in older adults. Areas of particular interest include: 1. Technology-Assisted Behavioral Interventions with a Human Touch (Virtual Reality, Zoom, Sensors, Phenotyping, Robots) 2. Mind-body Interventions (Mindfulness, Meditation, Tai Chi, Yoga, Exercise, Health Education).

Update on Lyme Disease

Dr. Leighanne ParkesDr. Leighanne Parkes is Royal College of Physicians of Canada certified in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, and Medical Microbiology. She has completed a clinical fellowship in infectious prevention and control at the University of Toronto. She presently works as a physician with the division of infectious diseases at the Jewish General Hospital and as a microbiologist with the department of Laboratory Medicine at 平特五不中 Health Centre in Montreal, Quebec. She is the co-medical director of the department of infection prevention and control at the CIUSSS du Centre-Ouest-de-l鈥櫭巐e-de-Montr茅al and is the chair of the Infection Prevention and Control Advisory Committee for Medical Microbiology at 平特五不中. Her work is focused on infection prevention and control and antimicrobial stewardship in long-term care as well as the role of engineering controls in infection prevention.
