Population Education: Hands-on Activities for People and the Planet

Our global population has passed 7.4 billion and continues to grow鈥

Join us on Friday October 14, 11:30am - 1:30pm in room 211 to learn strategies that encourage K-12 students to think critically about their impacts on the natural world and society.

In this fun, interactive workshop, you鈥檒l join Population Education to learn inter-disciplinary strategies for teaching students about human ecology and related social, environmental, and economic issues.听

In the workshop, you will:

  • learn to use a variety of engaging classroom activities to teach environmental and global trends to your students
  • receive a newly updated CD-ROM of 60 lesson plans, including answer keys, data sheets, background readings and other resources!
  • participate in all workshop activities, including a video, quizzes, simulations, cooperative learning activities, problem solving challenges, and other experiential learning strategies

Population Education provides hands-on training to over 12,000 teachers and student teachers annually in North America. Our hands-on and student centered approach has earned our program a reputation for educational excellence at both education conferences and universities around the nation.

Open to all B.Ed and MATL students.
