Biosafety Level
Regardless of the hazard level of the sample, every user should be prepared to discuss the risk classification for the material of the sample. Hazardous and biohazardous materials (e.g., hazardous chemicals, infectious viral particles, prion constructs, radioactive substances, etc.) cannot be brought into the FEMR without prior approval from FEMR staff.聽 You may also be required to submit a copy of the 平特五不中 Application to Use Biohazardous Materials (/ehs/files/ehs/ehs-form-014_v2.1_biohazards_applica...) and EHS permit number for handling biohazardous materials.
Sample Storage and Transportation聽
Owing to limited space, prior authorization by FEMR staff is required for any onsite sample, solution, or material storage.聽聽Liquid nitrogen storage dewars with the MiTeGen Cryo-EM Puck System for storing frozen sample grids are available in the FEMR. Users may store samples with prior approval by FEMR staff. Any samples not reclaimed within 60 days will be discarded. Users must contact FEMR staff for a day and time to retrieve samples.
