Biography:

Dr. C么t茅 is a Professor and the former Chair of 平特五不中鈥檚 Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education (2016-2022). She was also the Interim Director of 平特五不中鈥檚 Sports Science Research Institute, and is currently an associate member of the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy. She leads the 平特五不中 Biomechanics of Occupations and Sport (BOS) research laboratory, as well as the Occupational Biomechanics and Ergonomics Laboratory of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation (CRIR) of Greater Montreal, Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital site. She is also a regular scientist member of CRIR and of the Quebec Rehabilitation Research Network (REPAR).

Her research program focuses mainly on better understanding how repetitive movements are controlled, and how personal (age, sex, fatigue, pain, diseases such as Parkinson鈥檚) and environmental (type of work or sport, work conditions such as sitting or standing) affect one鈥檚 neurophysiology, biomechanics and movement production. Her work has led to recommendations for ergonomists, coaches, and therapists. Her research program has been recognized by FRQS and CIHR research Chair programs, and she is currently funded by the Canada Foundation for Innovation and the NSERC. She has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers, she has presented her work internationally, and she has active collaborations with leading scientists all over the world (Italy, Scandinavia, South America, Israel). She continues to supervise research trainees from the undergraduate to the post-doctoral level, most of whom are funded by diverse sources such as Mitacs. She teaches biomechanics and ergonomics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
