Program Overview
There are several options for completing the Master of Arts: Second Language Education.
The thesis option is a research-oriented degree, approximately half of which consists of thesis research. The non-thesis option, consisting entirely of course work, is less research-oriented than the thesis option and is suitable for practitioners interested in professional development with a theoretical orientation.
For a full list of courses and course descriptions:
NB: Please note that applications are accepted for the fall semester ONLY. There is no intake for the winter and summer semesters.
The thesis option is recommended for students interested in undertaking a more in-depth independent study or in moving on to a PhD upon completion of their Master's degree. The non-thesis option may be more appropriate if you are wishing to pursue the MA alongside full-time work or are primarily pursuing the degree for career advancement.
