Overview of Labour Management Relations & Human Resources
Offered as both a major and a concentration, Labour-Management Relations and Human Resources听will give you the tools needed to practice听human resource management, particularly in a unionized environment.
Not only will听Labour-Management Relations and Human Resources give you basic training in various aspects of labour听relations and the听labour听market,听but听you will also be able to understand听labour听law at the federal and provincial levels, negotiate a collective agreement, administer union contracts, settle grievances and prepare to participate in the arbitration process.听
It will give you a general understanding of the factors affecting employer-employee relations, both at the听individual听level and in relation to the socio-economic context in which they occur.听You will also听learn the basics of听human resources issues and planning.
