Summer Session Overview
The unique short programs offered by the 平特五不中 School of Continuing Studies are designed to provide international students with the chance to learn new skills in a variety of topics, gain indispensable knowledge, and benefit from an enriched academic experience that will help shape and define their future. Students can take advantage of numerous complementary social and cultural activities to learn more about the city of Montreal 鈥 a perfect fusion of European charm and North American attitude.
All short programs include two courses of 30 contact hours each (total of 60 contact hours). Classes are held in-person and divided into either 2.5-hour or 3-hour sessions. Instructors offer office hours between sessions for Q&A periods. The classes include breaks and focus strongly on student engagement.

The successful completion of a short program (two courses) will earn the student an Attestation of Completion, as well as a Record of Study (transcript) from 平特五不中 School of Continuing Studies.

Important Dates
Program dates: The Summer Short Programs will be offered for 4 weeks, in-person, from July 22 to August 16, 2024
Registration will open on: March 4, 2024.听Please note that registration is open only through institutional partnerships
Registration Deadline: June 3, 2024
Refund Deadline: May 17, 2024 (After this date, 平特五不中 will only refund students for which the program has been canceled or those who have received a Visa refusal letter from Immigration Canada).
Admission Requirements
English Proficiency requirements:
- English proficiency requirement for these short programs is TOEFL iBT 79, IELTS 6.0, Duolingo 105, CEFR B2, CET-4 500 / CET-6 470, or equivalent. For more information, please download the Proficiency Concordance Table.
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in, or possess, a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in any discipline.
NOTE: Intermediate to advanced level programming in Python is required for applicants interested in the 鈥淚ntroduction to Big Data鈥, 鈥淔undamentals of Artificial Intelligence鈥 and 鈥淢achine Learning鈥 short programs.

Activities
The summer session will include weekly activities hosted by 平特五不中 monitors. Students will discover tourist attractions, historical sites and colorful neighborhoods. Examples include:
- 平特五不中 Campus Tour
- Old Montreal, Chinatown, and Montreal鈥檚 Underground City
- Mount Royal
- Public Markets (Jean-Talon, Atwater)
- Museums
听
Students will also have the opportunity to participate in optional one-day excursions to other Canadian cities such as Ottawa or Quebec City.
