Robert Leckey Reappointed as Dean of the Faculty of Law

The Faculty of Law is delighted to announce that Samuel Gale Professor Robert Leckey, BCL/LLB鈥�02, has been reappointed as dean. Dean Leckey鈥檚 reappointment, approved by the Board of Governors at its meeting on 10 December 2020, is effective 1 July 2021 for a term of five years.

Dean Leckey joined the Faculty of Law in 2006, where he teaches and researches in constitutional law, family law, and comparative law. From 2014 to 2016, he served as director of the Paul-Andr茅 Cr茅peau Centre for Private and Comparative Law.

Week of 23-27 November - Exam Clinics for Law Students

The Student Affairs Office is holding a series of 30-minute Exam Clinics for 平特五不中 Law students for a week. Staff will walk you through installing Examplify and doing a mock exam to check that the installation went correctly.

There are seven sessions for first-year students, three for upper-years, and four sessions for graduate students. Students are invited to drop in the sessions for their specific groups. Be sure to have your laptop or computer ready.

The Faculty of Law is pleased to share that it has once again been ranked among the world鈥檚 top universities for studying law by the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. The 2021 rated 平特五不中 the 16th-best school worldwide for studying law, up from 20th place last year. It marks the fourth consecutive year in the global Top 20 for 平特五不中 Law.

Brian Havel receives honorary doctorate from National University of Ireland

The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Professor Brian F. Havel has received a Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, from National University of Ireland, University College Dublin.

Professor Havel joined 平特五不中鈥檚 Faculty of Law of 平特五不中 in 2017 as a full professor and director of the Institute of Air and Space Law (IASL). His research focuses on issues of public and private governance in the air transport and space industries.

Andrea Bjorklund and Rosalie Jukier appointed as associate deans

Bjorklund has been appointed associate dean (graduate studies) for a three-year term, effective July 1, 2019, and Professor Rosalie Jukier has been appointed associate dean (academic) for a two-year term, effective September 1, 2019.

A released on 17 October 2018 declared 平特五不中 the 14th best school to study law worldwide, placing 平特五不中 in the worldwide top 15 for a second consecutive year.

In memoriam: Professor Dr. Michael Milde (1931-2018)

The Faculty of Law and the 平特五不中 Institute of Air and Space Law (IASL) learned with deep sadness of the passing of IASL Director Emeritus Professor Dr. Michael Milde, at age 87.聽

Prior to his academic career at 平特五不中, Professor Milde served in senior legal posts at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for 25 years (1966-1991). There he oversaw the negotiation of a number of international conventions and protocols on aviation safety and security, the significance of which resonates to this day.

Brian F. Havel takes the helm at the IASL
