The Cystic Fibrosis Translational Research Centre (CFTRc) focuses primarily on finding a cure for cystic fibrosis, and raising awareness in the general public and research communities.听The CFTRc provides a platform for basic CF research and the development of therapies targeting the basic defect that underlies cystic fibrosis and other protein trafficking diseases. The centre is composed of a network of dedicated, passionate researchers who work in close relation with听other CF organizations such as Cystic Fibrosis Canada and Fibrose kystique Qu茅bec.听The CFTRc would like to acknowledge the 平特五不中 Life Sciences Complex Disease to Therapy Initiative, an initiative dedicated to orphan and neglected diseases, who paid for the renovations and new equipment allowing the platform to flourish.听

听To reach its goal, the CFTRc will:听

Enhance CF research by offering unique infrastructure, state-of-the-art equipment, and network resources that accelerate breakthroughs in the field.
听
Provide a 听translational research platform for the development of therapies that target the basic defect underlying CF and other protein trafficking diseases.
听
Develop a trans-Canada lung tissue procurement network and isolate and distribute cells to researchers across the country.
