Research Presentation

The McURA recipients must submit their final report to mccais.science [at] mcgill.ca ²ú²âÌýSeptember 27th 2024 at 11:59 PM.Ìý

Report Outline:

The final report must be submitted in PDF format and follow a consistent formatting style, such as MLA, APA, AMA.ÌýThe average length of the report (excluding reference, tables, figures, appendices) is between 10 to 15 pages.ÌýÌýÌý

The report must include the following:Ìý

  • A Title Page that includes the Research Project Title, the full names & positions of the students and supervisors.Ìý
  • A structured abstract.Ìý
  • An introduction: a short outline of the McURA Research Project.ÌýÌý
    • What questions did you want to answer and why do you believe they were important to answer?
  • Project Outcomes & Deliverables:
    • Explain to the reader why you wanted to do this interdisciplinary research project and how the McURA was able to help you achieve your goals.Ìý
    • Explain your initial research objectives and what was the project outcomes/deliverables considering these objectives. Ìý
    • Give us examples of some challenges you faced in your research and the steps you took to overcome them. Ìý
    • Briefly explain your project’s (potential) impact on society. Ìý
    • Discuss the limitations of your work and its impact on society. Explain how your projects can be responsibly integrated into society.Ìý
    • Describe the knowledge translation activities, such as journal publications, conference presentations, and policy briefs, that you have conducted or plan to conduct for disseminating the results of your project.Ìý
  • °ä´Ç²Ô³¦±ô³Ü²õ¾±´Ç²Ô: â¶Ä¯Ìý
    • Give a quick recap of what you presented to the reader. Ìý
    • If applicable, let the reader know how you can expand your research further if given the opportunity. Ìý

Final Presentation

Students are expected to present their research during the annual McCAIS event in the Fall semester. Students are required to present their work in PowerPoint format. Further details and guidelines will be sent to the student by email.Ìý

Students are also encouraged to present their research during the Faculty of Science’s Soup and Science event.Ìý
