Support for Youth in/from Care

The support for youth from care is available for 平特五不中 students with documented experience in youth protection (students receiving, or who have received, child protection services). This is a new program that aims to address barriers that former youth in care face while attending university. The program further aims to foster engagement and a sense of belonging through mentorship and connections to other services and students across campus and in the community.

Assistance for 平特五不中 students

The Student Access and Support Advisor聽in Student Accessibility and Achievement connects students with documented experience in youth protection to resources on and off campus, for support in:聽housing, funding and financial needs, mental and physical health, career paths, employment opportunities, academic achievement and support, campus engagement, and finding resources on campus.

Befriend a 平特五不中 student, get guidance and support: apply to the Youth in Care Program聽or explore Inclusive Futures. This is your chance to be paired with a 平特五不中 student-mentor or student-tutor. Find a friendly face, get peer-to-peer guidance and support, enhance your current studies and practical skills, decide what to study next, and get ready for 平特五不中 (or higher education in general).

The Scholarships and Student Aid Office can help you fund your studies

First degree undergraduate Canadian students in or from foster care can benefit from 平特五不中's聽Youth in/from Care Bursary. A聽minimum guarantee per year of $5,000聽OR the cost of 平特五不中 tuition, whichever is higher, for the length of an undergraduate degree,聽up to 4 years聽per recipient.

Newly accepted, first-year, first degree undergraduate students* are encouraged to apply to the need-based聽Entrance Bursary Program.

*Newly accepted, first-year undergraduate direct entrants to professional programs in Medicine and Law (with prior degree) are also eligible to apply

Volunteer on campus

The Branches mentorship and tutoring programs for youth in/from care聽create opportunities for 平特五不中 students to give back to the community and gain leadership experience while studying at 平特五不中. Some of these programs offer monetary awards to participants too. Stay tuned for the application launch in August!
