Assistant Professor, 平特五不中听Institute for Health and Social Policy听/听School of Environment

Chris Barrington-Leigh came to 平特五不中 in 2011. He is an economist and听Assistant Professor at 平特五不中's Institute for Health and Social Policy,听School of Environment, and Department of Economics. His research is听focused on environment, urban development, and empirical and quantitative听assessments of welfare and their implications for policy. He uses听subjective well-being ("happiness") reports to address the relative听importance of social and community-oriented aspects of life along with听market consumption. He received his Economics PhD from the University of听British Columbia, and previously trained in upper atmospheric and space听plasma physics at M.I.T, Stanford University, and U.C. Berkeley.

The Urban Studies @平特五不中 Seminar Series invites speakers to present on a variety of ongoing research, projects, and issues related to urban studies. The seminars are hosted and organized by the 平特五不中 School of Urban Planning, with participation from the 平特五不中 School of Environment, and Department of Geography. The seminars typically run from noon to 1pm on Fridays throughout the semester and are open to students, faculty, and other members of the urban studies group.
