Natural History

Overview

Natural History focuses on the observation and systematic study of all living organisms in nature (animals, fungi, and plants). It explores their forms, origins, evolution, behaviors and interactions with other species in their natural environment.

The BSc. Natural History Minor involves the exploration of the natural world via specimen-based studies, object-oriented investigations and field studies. Through the program, you鈥檒l be brought to the Redpath Museum and other natural science museums, where the collections are used to provide hands-on experience with real objects and specimens. You will benefit from direct exposure to natural history methodologies as well as specimen-based studies.聽

You can choose from a multi-disciplinary complementary course list covering specimen- or object-based courses, as well as field courses in zoology, botany, and earth and environmental sciences. A compulsory field course component rounds out the program.聽
