Overview

History : Readings and research on the history of emotions, with focus on how historians have studied the emotional life of the past. Particular attention to the various ways emotion has been conceived in the past and the historical methodologies used to study emotional experiences.

Terms: This course is not scheduled for the 2024-2025 academic year.

  • Prerequisite(s): At least one History course at the 400-level or above, or permission of instructor.

  • Restrictions: Not open to students who have taken HIST 507 in fall 2016.
