Program Requirements
Le certificat d'études supérieures en perfectionnement professionnel de CPA répond aux exigences du programme de formation professionnelle (PFP) requis pour obtenir le titre de comptable professionnel agréé (CPA) au Québec. À la fin du programme, vous serez en mesure de vous présenter à l’examen final commun (EFC) que doivent réussir les candidats au titre de CPA et qui se déroule sur trois jours. Le PFP et l’EFC sont tous deux exigés pour obtenir le titre de CPA et exercer la profession de comptable.
Ce programme à temps partiel est conçu pour les gens qui travaillent. Il comprend une série de cours ainsi que des cours de synthèse intensifs, des apprentissages par cas, du travail d’équipe et des simulations d’examen visant principalement à améliorer la capacité des candidats à utiliser les connaissances, les valeurs, les attitudes et les règles d’éthiques professionnelles auxquelles on s’attend d’un CPA.
Les cours visent à accroître les connaissances en comptabilité, à développer les capacités d’analyse et de pensée critique et à travailler et cheminer professionnellement dans un environnement de plus en plus ambigu. Ils sont à l’image des compétences techniques et habilitantes que les entreprises, les cabinets et les gouvernements exigent des comptables professionnels. Les cours sont donnés par une équipe de CPA expérimentés qui emploient une gamme de techniques et de méthodologies axées sur l’apprenant pour transmettre les connaissances et l’expérience du terrain qu’ils ont acquises en travaillant dans des sociétés internationales de premier plan.

CCPA 601 CPA Foundations 1 (6 unités)

CCPA : This course examines the application of technically complex financial accounting and reporting issues. It will also explore corporate governance, strategy and management accounting, with an emphasis on their integration. The course will foster integration between financial accounting and related audit notions in a case-based setting, while focusing on different roles a CPA may play in an organization, both internal and external.

CCPA 602 CPA Foundations 2 (6 unités)

CCPA : This course develops upon the financial accounting and reporting, management accounting, and audit concepts explored in CCPA 601. Tax will be integrated into case scenarios to simulate the complete set of decision variables faced by a CPA. The course will explore how to perform cash flow projections and business valuations. Emphasis will be placed on using these analyses to provide advice to management.

CCPA 631 Case-Writing and Communications for CPAs (3 unités)

CCPA : This course focuses on developing a structured case writing approach and effective presentation skills. Students will practice case-writing which will be professionally graded and debriefed in class. Students will also learn techniques on how to prepare and deliver board-level presentations.

CCPA 641 Capstone 1 Seminar (3 unités)

CCPA : This course will provide an introduction to comprehensive case analysis. Teamwork will be used as a means to integrate the enabling competencies and the six technical competency areas required of a CPA to develop a presentation and report aimed at a Board of Directors. Emphasis will be placed on developing case responses using the CPA Way.

CCPA : This course will focus on the different elements of an audit plan and how to tailor that plan to different business settings (private companies, public enterprises and NPOs). The course will also explore how to develop procedures, evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and conclude on audit results.

CCPA 624 Finance for CPAs (3 unités)

CCPA : This course will examine how to evaluate and recommend investment and financing projects. Advanced topics in corporate finance will be explored, with a focus on decision-making. This course will stress the integration of finance-related decisions with strategy and governance.

CCPA 642 Capstone 2 Examination Preparation
