Overview

Communication (CCE) : Production of original works of literary short fiction in English. Advanced study and application of written storytelling techniques and craft elements used in contemporary short fiction forms, with a main focus on the short story. In-depth instruction in the nuanced creation of character, dialogue, scene, setting, point of view, narrative distance, and structure. Craft, analysis of published literary short fiction, workshop-style critique, multiple drafts, and substantive revision.
