Mining & Materials Engineering : Deformation and failure mechanisms in crystalline solids; dislocation mechanics and dynamics, including Peierls-Nabarro model, Peach-Koehler equation, dislocation pile-ups and dislocation forest; Griffith fracture mechanics, crack-tip plasticity, J-integral and crack-dislocation interactions.
