"For several decades, the world of libraries, archives, records management, information management, and museums have been affected by tremendous changes due to the increasing use of information technologies, Internet, social medias, and the need to preserve and make accessible rapidly sets of data and information resources that growing continuously.

Information professionals need to transform their profession, by being more proactive, creative, and by analyzing the needs of present and future generations in relation to their use of听information technologies. The traditional roles, training and knowledge required to manage and preserve digital information are now essential for information professionals in order to be successful in their positions. But what expertise is needed exactly?"

Speaker bio

Genevi猫ve Eustache has been working for more than 35 years at the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Ottawa. She started her career as the Curator of scientific documents at the National Museum of Man, which became the Canadian Museum of Civilization in 1989. She has been responsible of the following services: Archives and Documents, Information Management Services, Archives and Documentation Services, and, was nominated 听Interim Director from 2008 to 2012, directing the library, archives, the artifact documentation services, as well as the team in charge of the Canadian Culture Online digitization projects at the museum. She obtained 听a degree in Anthropology from the University of Montreal and gained training in archives, information management, preservation and management of digital heritage, museology, copyrights, and management of human, material and financial resources.
