Join us for a 平特五不中 School of Information Studies (SIS) Seminar Series talk on evaluating information security risks with guest speaker Anton Stiglic, Corporate Director of Information Security, Loto-Qu茅bec.

ABSTRACT

Evaluating risks is a fundamental part of information security, yet still today many ad hoc ways and non-standard methodologies are used to accomplish this task in practice. In this presentation, we will cover different topics relating to the qualification of risk in information security. To gain a broader perspective of risk, we will examine the basic definition of risk and look at risk-related notions used in other fields such as quantitative finance. We will conclude by proposing efficient and proven techniques used in practice to communicate information security risks to managers and underline certain topics that are still open to research in this area.
